not require American expats residing permanently abroad to file U.S. tax returns and pay U.S. taxes

Created by B.N. on June 28, 2013

The IRS currently requires all American expats to fill out a yearly tax return and be potentially subject to taxation. The United States of America is one of just two countries in the world (the other being Eritrea) that requires this of their citizens. We request that all American expats living permanently abroad be no longer subject to this for two main reasons:
1. One of the roots of the American government is based on the principle "no taxation without representation". Our expat interests are not represented in the US government.
2. American expats are subject to full taxation in their new country, and in return we receive benefits in our new country. Paying additional taxes to a country in which we no longer reside, and currently receive no benefits to, is unjust.
