If things need to be cut, PR programs such as white house tours should be among the first to go. The role of the government is to govern, not to advertise the fact that it is governing.
We the people therefor petition that the White House not give in to media pressure to restore previously-cancelled white house tours.
We don't need them as much as we need tuition assistance for young men and women in the U.S. military.
We don't need them as much as we need our impoverished young people to have reliable access to food.
We don't need them as much as we need equitable access to higher education.
In short, we don't need white house tours nearly as much as we need the myriad other programs that are on the chopping block that actually help people live better lives.
