As of August 29th 2013, The USDA has Quietly lifted their ban on processed poultry products from China.
To keep our trade deals with China the USDA has agreed to send our chicken on a fourteen day trip to China where it will be processed in an unregulated location, packaged and sent back to the US. This leaves us to wonder if we are even getting back he chicken we send to them in the first place, not to mention the recent outbreak of H7N9 avian flu in live meat markets across China opens us up to unknown disease and a possible pandemic. The reason we have the USDA is to secure that we have Government regulations on things we put in our bodies and feed to our children. If we are allowing our poultry to be processed in countries with zero regulations then our Government is letting us down.
