Now that reasonable gun control measures are a near certainty, we need to continue the fight for progress by having people unlock the doors to their homes. People who lock their doors are doing so out of fear, bigotry, and a misplaced mistrust of government, insecurely clinging to these archaic mechanisms. By opening our doors to the world we will open our minds and hearts and create a safer, more civil society. Do we want to live in a world where we have to lock our doors out of fear? No! Please sign this petition and ask your Congressman to support a law to place reasonable limits on locked doors, especially on deadbolts, security chains, and door stops, one day leading to a lockless, open door society with less violence and hate.
