Vastly wealthy individuals influence how we talk in the media and are informed of the environment through our politicians. Millions of dollars are given as charitable donations to congressmen in order to push a climate denying, science denying agenda so to keep personal energy ambitions/profits secure. Rather than pushing for a rapid growing renewable energy sector, we are being restrained from a job booming sector simply because it is bad business for oil, coal, and natural gas industries. The transition has to be done. We can not do it without investing fossil fuels into building this new infrastructure. This petition is for the void of any future votes administered by a congressmen regarding climate/energy if he/she is given money (in)directly by fossil fuel companies. We must evolve.
