We the people agree that it is inhumane to treat any American citizen as a nonhuman unit of energy or productivity. Congress must show, through action, comprehension of the ACTUAL cost of living upon which the poverty line is based. At this time, even working a full forty hour week at minimum wage, it is not possible for persons to survive at a basic needs level. Especially in so called Right to Work States, persons seeking employment at a minimum wage level are now denied any assurance of twenty to forty hours of work, or a reliable schedule, but are made to make themselves available, in case, they can be used. This means that employers are legally empowered to OWN All of their employees' time. This is psychologically dangerous for the employee, and is also technically a form of slavery.
