Obama's administration asks the government of South Sudan to release the political detainees

Created by G.A. on February 06, 2014

The 4 political detainees have been accused of playing a leading role in attempting to overthrow the government. They have been accused of masterminding the coup, however, the government has never produced any hard evidences that indicated that these four were involved in coup. Few soldiers resist the arrest of the political detainees in the presidential guards. Note that the emphasis was to kill the 4 political detainees and that is why war broke out in the presidential guards. For over 60 years the people of South Sudan have endured oppression, and extensive suffering under successive authoritarian regimes of Khartoum. Mr. President asks the government of South Sudan to release the remaining 4 political prisoners, the people of South Sudan cannot afford another long war.
