July 4th is the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence - our nation's founding.
Government offices and most companies give a day off of work to celebrate the holiday. Family time and employee satisfaction are improved when it is part of a weekend. Our observance and celebration of this event are more rich when the holiday does not occur mid-week.
As a nation, let's observe & celebrate Independence Day on the first Friday of July.
