Occupational Therapy needs to be recognized as a "mental and behavioral health profession" under the federal loan.

Created by O.E. on June 13, 2013

Occupational Therapy needs to be recognized as a "mental and behavioral health
profession" under the federal loan. Occupational Therapy uniquely addresses role participation,
such as worker, student, spouse, to name a few, by teaching and promoting the acquisition of those
unique underlying skills needed for success in each role.

On behalf of more than 140,000 occupational therapy practitioners,
as well as the American Occupational Therapy Association, we request that you
recognize "occupational therapy" as a "mental and behavioral health
profession" under the National Health Service Corp, HR 1037.
