offer to all individuals affected by the OPM data breach a lifetime of identity theft protection & credit monitoring

As a result of a "malicious cyber intrusion" that targeted the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) the personal information of over 20 million individuals has been exposed. In response, the federal government is offering three years of identity theft protection and monitoring services to those affected and their minor children. These services include: credit monitoring, identity monitoring, identity theft insurance, and identity restoration services. Three years is simply not enough given the extent of the potential damage and the sheer number of people affected by the breach. We are requesting that the President enact legislation that will offer the victims of OPM data breach a lifetime of these services.
