Religious affiliation is a choice, one that people make once they have reached adulthood. As such, these choices should in no way be protected in our Constitution. While people should be free to practice the religion of their choosing, they should not get any special treatment for doing so. Churches should not get tax breaks that are not available to other corporations. Religious practices should not be allowed to be held in public, but rather behind closed doors as with all other "adult" entertainment. And, most especially, children should be raised free of religious constraints until they reach the age of adulthood and can make their own, informed decisions. Lastly religious belief should be barred as a defense in criminal proceedings. No special rights for the superstitious.
