Repatriating cash means bringing cash held by corporations overseas back to the United States. Several major US Companies hold substantial amounts of cash overseas and are discouraged from spending their cash reserves back in the US because of tax liabilities for repatriating said cash. It is clear that larger corporations are showing strength, but are still reluctant to hire. Allowing them to return large cash-piles from overseas for the purpose of new hiring will encourage reinvestment in the American workforce, which in turn, should expand the aggregate demand in the American economy, further benefiting the corporations in the Untied States. This will help facilitate a virtuous circle to circumvent sluggish growth and our soon to be insurmountable fiscal liabilities.
