To offer FEMA funds for southwest michigan from torrential rains destroying thousands of homes filled with sewage backup

Created by P.B. on August 24, 2014

August 11th southwest michigan experienced torrential rains. The sewage systems failed in Royal Oak and several other surrounding cities. Thousands of homes had over four feet of backup sewage in our homes. It's been nearly two weeks now and I have not met one person who's homeowners insurance covered anything. We've all been denied. Royal oak homes have beautifully finished basements. We just completed a $40,000 renovation to our basement. We lost everything due to items exposed to several feet of sewage. Someone needs to stand up for us!
I would hope we could count on our government when we've been declared a state of emergency and catastrophe.
