I am 15 and a sophomore in High school.
Last year, I cut off all my hair and the students at my school automatically assumed I was a lesbian. I'm not, but it hurt me to think that they would have such a mislead and stereotypical idea of the matter. I was slightly alienated for my short hair. I tried to initiate a GSA, because I felt what it was like to be ridiculed for something like being gay. I wanted gay and straight kids to have a safe place to hang out together without being judged. I failed because my school system, principle, teachers and students trampled the idea and found any way around it that they could. This petition is for justice, and for human understanding. The world can change with baby steps. I'm asking you for your signature so that I can have the chance to make one.
