Jews in the Eastern Ukraine are being forced to "register" with a militant government. This is a tactic that was used by both Hitler and Stalin. The U.S. government needs to be proactive and not wait for another genocide to occur before acting, as the past atrocities of Russia toward Jewish people is well known. This petition seeks to offer immediate refugee status to any Jew in Eastern Ukraine that wishes to avoid "registration." Once a refugee in the U.S., these Jewish people can choose either permanent residence in the United States or temporary residence until such a time as the political and civil unrest has ended.
