Water is often abundant at certain times of the year in the northern tier states. At certain times of the year excess water will flow south, flooding southern states as it approaches the Gulf. An abundance of water that flows toward the Pacific has meant the northwest has largely escaped drought conditions.
A system of moving water to where it is needed in the south and southwest, where the lack of water will soon cause economic strife, will:
1. Provide jobs for an enormous number of people across a broad spectrum of dicsiplines.
2. Save the agriculutural regions of the south from near certain catastrophe.
3. Become a project that will indeed be a model for the entire world.
