In order to save lives from senseless gun violence, I would like to petition the Obama Administration to offer Limited Tax Credits to American gun owners who purchase gun safes.
The Administration could then partner with media outlets to implement a PSA campaign encouraging gun owners to keep their weapons, ammo, and high capacity magazines locked away when they are not being used.
To finance the Gun Safe Tax Credit, a small fee could be applied to all ammunition sales.
Not only is this a solution that I think most gun owners could live with, it would actually save thousands of lives because fewer weapons would be stolen and used in crimes.
