Offer a PAID maternity leave of at least 12 weeks for Women who give birth or adopt a child

Created by S.B. on January 22, 2013

Mothers across the U.S. would benefit from having the Federal backing of a PAID Maternity Leave of at least 12 weeks for Women who give birth or adopt a child. Under current FMLA guidelines, women are allowed 12 weeks of UN-paid leave. Most employers do not have a maternity leave package for women and the majority of women cannot afford to be gone from work for very long without receiving compensation. Other civilized and non-civilized nations have at least 12 weeks of Paid Maternity leave such as: Pakistan, South America, Spain, Canada, UK, France, Denmark, Italy, Norway and Japan to name a few.
