offer REBATES instead of TAX CREDITS to seniors who install solar and who have minimal taxable income to claim against

Created by C.C. on October 27, 2011

Many seniors have disposable income and want to contribute a legacy to future generations by greening the grid. However, many of us have minimal taxable income to apply for the 30% federal TAX CREDITS. Seniors tend to be a frugal bunch, and when they are denied the savings others get, they rethink this investment. By offering REBATES, we could encourage more rooftop solar and decrease the necessity for more nuclear and coal plants by supplementing our peak electricity needs. Rooftop arrays will provide 30+ years of electricity from the sun, so we need to encourage this investment for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
