We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Official apology for Chinese Exclusion Act 1882

Created by K.C. on May 03, 2016

In the spirit of Asian Heritage month of May, WE the undersigned request Pres Obama to officially apologize on behalf of the United States of America for the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. The Chinese are the only ethnicity ever excluded officially from immigrating to the United States by an act of Congress, though it was repealed in 1943, only 105 Chinese were allowed to enter the country per year, it wasn't until 1965 that full immigration was afforded the Chinese. The US Congress led by Rep. Judy Chu passed a resolution of "Regret" in 2012 but it falls well short of an apology to the many families separated for decades because of this "Yellow Peril Era" law.
