April 2015 will mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, perpetrated by the Ottoman Turkish government and denied to this day by its successors. Genocide scholars worldwide consider the Armenian Genocide the template for all modern genocide.
Genocide denial – the last stage of genocide – threatens everyone. It fuels current genocides and emboldens those who would commit future atrocities. Stopping the cycle of genocide begins by speaking truthfully about past genocides.
Recognize the 1915 Armenian Genocide which claimed over 1.5 million lives at the hands of the Ottoman Empire. Despite its recognition in 43 states, the Genocide has not been recognized nationally. Please stand in the name of justice and social equality for all and recognize this dark chapter in history.
