In co-opting a vaccination program in Pakistan to obtain information about the location of Osama Bin Laden, the CIA has made the job of global health workers immeasurably harder. In that country alone, the attempt to eradicate Polio has been severely hampered, with terrorists targeting aid workers in retaliation and local populations refusing to participate in vaccine drives. Not to mention the credence that the CIA deception lends to popular theories about HIV/AIDS and the Ebola outbreak being a government conspiracy to control populations in Africa. This petition calls for the censure of the CIA for using health work as a cover for covert action, and the banning of any actions in the future that might likewise harm the efforts of global health initiatives.
