The killing of beloved Harambe, a Western lowland gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, caused a national outcry for justice. An unattended young boy who was able to make his way into Harambe's enclosure found himself being dragged around and played with by the peaceful giant for a full ten minutes, before the zoo staff, fearing for the boy's safety and following protocol, fatally shot Harambe. Naming the zoo after Harambe where he spent the last years of his life and people go to have fun and learn about wildlife would be the perfect way to commemorate him.
