We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Officially declare only verse 1 of "The Star Spangled Banner" as the National Anthem of the United States of America.

Created by J.G. on August 31, 2016

With recent debate and discussions surrounding the National Anthem of the United States, The Star Spangled Banner, attention has been brought to the fact that all four verses of this song are the official anthem of the United States. Because we live in the year 2016, and because the National Anthem as it currently exists was introduced as the official anthem by Congress in 1931, less than 100 years ago, we the people are demanding that Congress now act to disavow verses 3 and 4 of Francis Scott Keys' "The Star Spangled Banner" as the verses celebrate the death of runaway slaves and imperialism.
