Officially define water as a right that is to be protected from the private sector and the profit motive.

In light of the growing environmental dangers to our food and water supply...necessities of life and obvious resources belonging to the public commons, as opposed to the private sector, it is apparent that we need a progressive champion to draw the line in the sand before we the people are in a state of emergency. Profit should not dictate how water is allocated or protected. Declare water as a protected right and necessity for life! We see efforts already underway to sway impressions and perceptions to the neoliberal/corporate ideology in regards to society, reducing water to just one more product to be delivered...one more means to grow profit...in spite of the obvious, that water and other necessities are far too important to be controlled by the appetites of "profit seeking."
