I petition the White House to pursue steps to award Dr. Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani physician who assisted with the capture of Osama Bin Laden, the National Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Medal for his service to our country and world justice.
I would also petition the administration to pursue and prosecute those responsible for leaking information about his service to the Pakistani government, leading to his arrest.
This hero should know that 311,000,000 Americans are grateful for his selfless act. And while the politics of our government have led to him being seemingly abandoned, his courage is not forgotten and will be remembered in our country's history forever.
