We the undersigned are asking the Obama administration to recognize the song "United" by heavy metal band Judas Priest as the official anthem for LGBT people.
In 1980, Judas Priest released their landmark album "British Steel" containing the song "United".
In 1998, lead singer Rob Halford came out as gay.
In 2014, Halford lamented in an interview that he doesn't see many LGBT metal fans.
In recognition for Halford's work in heavy metal and becoming metal's first gay icon, we are asking that the song "United" be named the official anthem for LGBT people.
