We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Officially Recognize the State of Palestine as an Indepemdent Nation

Created by A.K. on July 21, 2016

The State of Palestine has been recognized by 68% of UN member states since declaring independence from Israel in 1988. The United States is currently one of only nine nations that voted against recognizing Palestine as a nation, as many others abstained.
It is also important to realize that this petition is not anti-Israel, it is pro-peace. The violence in the area is primarily because of what the Palestinians see as oppression and theft of their land. A two state solution could very well see many of these start to dwindle.
With this petition, it is proposed that the United States recognizes the State of Palestine as the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and we shall recognize the city of Ramallah as the capital of the State of Palestine.
