This country was founded on equal representation, and the separation of church and state. "Under God" was not originally added in the Pledge, but added in the mid 1900s. The term "Under God" is a blatantly representation of the Christian deity. What if the pledge said "Under Allah"? Would it still be there? This is clearly an issue of Christian representation in the government over other beliefs. The removal of this line will grant true equality to any who don't accept Christianity (which is still about 70 million people. see: census.gov). Is their refusal of the Christian somehow undermined?
The pledge should represent all deities of all U.S. accepted religions, or not at all.
