Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a blight on the American justice system. Every day, inmates in the Maricopa County Jail in Arizona are subjected to inhumane conditions, including internment in the "Tent City", where temperatures can reach an excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which the Sheriff himself has called a concentration camp. Beyond that, he has been accused of failure to investigate sex crimes, election law violations, misuse of funds, staging an assassination plot (Source: http://tinyurl.com/26h9ux3), and racial profiling. While we understand regional sovereignty, in the face of such blatant abuses of power, we believe that it is the responsibility of the Federal Government to intervene. We urge the Obama Administration to take action on this matter.
