Google announced on their public blog that they have plans to shutter the popular news reader known as Google Reader. This web app has been a foundational member of Google's web offerings and has developed a large, devoted following. Many use this as often, if not more than, Google's search services. The largest reason for requesting the reversal though is that there is no suitable alternative to replace Reader. For those that depend on Reader to sift through the mountains of information available form their favorite web sites, they will simply lose the ability to follow these businesses. This will adversely affect the US economy and particularly the technology sector. As a matter of national economics then, we request that the President formally ask Google to reconsider.
