Although we as a country have tried in the past to keep church and state separate, it has never been made into law. There are way too many laws currently being passed that have a religious tone to them. In order to maintain our religious freedom, as this country was founded upon it. We need to keep religion out of our government. If we open the door to one religion influencing our laws/rights, then we will end up opening the door to other religions to begin influencing our laws.
