Offset college tuition costs and offer scholerships by transfer of Athletic funds

College athletics has changed in many ways during the last ten years. Colleges fire coaching staffs with expensive Buy Out clauses, then offer a new coaching staff even more financially laden contracts. One coach recently described himself as a HIRED GUN to win football games. Players who perform well on the field in college can, after three years go on to the NFL. Non-athletic students graduate with student loans that take years to pay off. Gifted young men and women from lower income families don't have a chance to go to college. I suggest colleges with athletic budgets over a certain amount, including coaches salaries and incentives, be required to transfer a percentage of that budget to academic programs to lower tuition or offer scholarships to those who are otherwise priced out.
