Given the massive amount of signatures on secession petitions from individuals residing in other states we believe that some amendments to this process are in order.
To ensure that these petitions are representative of the portion of a population that agrees on an issue, and to reduce redundancy and fraudulent behavior regarding petitions, we propose the following:
1. That only individuals paying taxes in a state shall be allowed to start or sign a secession petition for that state.
2. That only one petition for the peaceful secession of a state shall be allowed exist at any given time.
3. That a state specific portion of this site be created, and that only residents of that state be allowed to sign petitions in this section.
