Many of the petitions for a particular state to secede from the USA are signed by non residents of that state or contain signatures that do not give state information. Only residents of a particular state petitioning to secede should be counted in the petition. A small samplng of Pennsylvania and Texas signatures showed that over half the signatures (in top 100 at time) were from out of state citizens or would not provide signatures indicating the state they were from. It is not realistic that someone from Georgia should request Pennsylvania secede from the USA and suspect that many have signed multiple other state petitions even if they never been to these states.
