The oil fields in Alaska are vast and could provide a long lasting source of oil. This would free up our economy from spending so much on foreign oil and keep money in our country. This is the first step to America becoming self sufficient on a world level. And it would be much easier to monitor equipment and prevent issues like the Gulf oil spill.
