OPEN A CANDID, ONE-ON-ONE DIALOGUE WITH NORTH KOREA REGARDING THEIR NUCLEAR PROGRAM AND HOSTILITY TOWARDS THE U.S.

Created by C.C. on January 24, 2013

North Korea responded to the UN's condemnation of a 12/12 rocket launch with a statement that hints toward a possible attack on the United States: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/25/world/asia/north-korea-vows-nuclear-te...

Crippling sanctions, a military force in South Korea, and a theory of "forced isolationism" has not, and will not, deter North Korea from furthering their nuclear program and/or attacking the US. We petition President Obama to start an open, one-on-one dialogue with Kim Jong-un, one of respect and understanding, as opposed to the current, constant wave of condemnation and parent/child scolding which has proven to only increase their hostility towards the US. Though simple, we have never tried this approach. Respect goes a long way.
