Open a case against Internet and Cable companies monopolistic agendas

We the people are subject to lack of choice, quality, and high costs. Why is this possible with the cash rich large companies out there? Verizon has the most promising service to date (FIOS) but has stated that their service expansion is at a standstill. Both TimeWarner and Comcast quality is poor at best with service interruptions and internet speeds that are extremely variable (for example you pay for 50mbps but they are only required to provide 6mbps?! download speeds, though they often do not even reach those with a true packet test). This topped with year over year (some cases month over month) increasing costs to consumers for the nothing better. Adding to this is the gross lack of competition, back room deals, and now recent merger! This a nationwide issue and needs to remedied.
