Open a Congressional Investigation into The Actions of The Bureau of Land Management During the Bundy Ranch Incident

Created by P.O. on August 13, 2016

In April of 2014 the Bureau of Land Management, acting on a Federal Court order, began rounding up cattle belonging to Cliven Bundy citing $1M in accumulated grazing fees and penalties. The operation cost millions of dollars and was doomed to fiscal insolvency. The BLM utilized unconstitutionally militarized units to threaten and harm protesters. On Saturday, 12 April 2014, having already declared intent to release all rounded up cattle, heavily armed agents of the BLM and Las Vegas Metro PD escalated the incident by pointing weapons at unarmed protesters and threatening the use of lethal force. This reckless escalation resulted in the incident where armed citizens postured defensively to protect these protesters. We call on Congress to formally investigate the actions of these agencies.
