Since the President and the Senate have declared that torture was used in violation of US and international law, those responsible should be punished. Criminal investigations should be opened by the justice department to determine who was involved and to file charges against those responsible.
If the US is a nation of laws, then those laws should be administered equally against everyone, including the powerful. Otherwise we are simply a nation with laws.
