Metal detecting is a national hobby and past time of all ages. the right to enjoy this hobby should not be regulated or restricted in any. federal lands should be open to all types of actives that do not harm the environment or enjoyment of others. those that use metal detectors dig holes and we fill them in afterward we find much more trash than treasure but we do it because we enjoy it. A responsible and ethical (metal detector hobbyist ) preform a service by removing the trash we find and also most of us will help find item's that have been lost at no cost we also help out local police departments find items of intrest
