Open Medicare to accredited overseas facilities for retirees and emergency situations saving m(B)illions in charges

Created by C.L. on March 23, 2013

Remove restriction on Medicare payments outside of the country.

Many retirees and others live outside of the US where treatment at ACCREDITED Facilities is as good as in the US. We have all paid into Medicare but cannot receive benefits even though the costs are often less than ten percent of US costs. This would save possibly Billions in Medicare costs, especially with many retirees returning to their native lands and others living where they had always dreamed of.

I had quad by-pass surgery seven years ago at a cost of almost 200,000 dollars, yet a friend had the almost the same procedure in Thailand for less than $10,000 - he is doing fine today.

Accreditation costs would be much less than the average Congressional junket. We paid for our Medicare, how about letting us collect it!
