Open more residency slots for ECFMG certified physicians

I'm writing this on behalf of thousands like me who have been unable to complete their training due to the haphazard process in place for residency placement in the US. As a 2007 graduate from a foreign medical school I faced the hardest obstacle in my struggling career as a physician. Carrying over a quarter of a million in loans I am unable to get a spot for over 5 years in a row. I was told that I was not cut out for medicine because I did not pass a licensing exam on the first attempt with an ideal score. Is this the true measure of a physician? Should scores outweigh your love for medicine, your commitment to your patients, and your character? We need a better system with more residency slots to offer hope and a future for those of us with no options to maximize our education.
