Over 50% of the State of Nevada is still owned by the Federal Government. The same can be said about several other states in the lower 48 as well as Alaska. Parceling off the majority these lands for agricultural, commercial, and residential development will allow for money to be deposited directly into the Treasury to fight the deficit, and on the investor side create jobs from farming and mining opportunities to the formation of new towns and cities and the wide variety of jobs that come with that.
Land slated for selection should not be within 50 miles of any military testing or operations facility. Additionally, in areas used for nuclear testing, land still testing radioactive should be left to heal.
This does not include land set aside for conservation such as national parks.
