This petition is meant to persuade the Obama Administration to open up the President's "private" swearing-in ceremony for his second inauguration. The President works for the American people and this is not President Obama's oath, this is the constitutional oath. It is not for him, it is for the public, the citizens of the United Sates of America.
There is no need for the President of the United States to have a secretive or private swearing-in. While the President is having a public, ceremonial swearing-in, the President also claimed to be a more transparent President. Hosting a private swearing-in that is not open to the public or the media is the the opposite of the transparent.
