Amidst investigations of voter suppression and discrepancies in voter party affiliation during the 2016 Presidential Primaries we believe that the current "Closed" system is one more obstacle in the democratic process.
In a democracy one person=one vote regardless of political party affiliation or lack thereof.
Denying Independent voters a voice in the nominating process not only excludes the rights of a large percentage of the electorate but also effectively undermines the democratic process.
Therefore; we respectfully request that the remainder of the Primary states be amended to Open status so as not to exclude any of the electorate from the nominating process.
