Currently our closest Social Security Office is in New Bern, NC which is about a 1- 1 and 1/2 hour drive for the majority of us. The commute is very far and it makes it harder to make the time to get in the office with the hours that are provided. Many of us that live in Jacksonville, NC are either serving in United States Marine Corps or are the family member of someone that is serving. When the Active Duty personnel is on deployment, it makes it hard to travel to New Bern with small children on our own. It would be a great help if there was a Social Security office at the Jackonville, NC location. Please consider.
