The cruel and inhuman repression of Tibetan people cannot be accepted if China wishes further acceptance as a world leader. We encourage the President, and the Secretary of State to speak out openly and honestly on this tragic situation that has resulted in the recent wave of self-immolations by Tibetan people.
We cannot stand idly by as these atrocities against a peaceful, innocent people are committed. As a freedom loving people, we must insist that the culture and traditions of the Tibetan people be respected , and the basic human rights of all people be upheld. Silence on this issue should not be an option for the American President.
