Israel has been fighting in self-defense since 1946 because it is surrounded by countries who support anti-israel terrorist groups. The attack on Gaza killed the Hamas leader and brought at least some peace of mind to the people of Israel. The amount of civilians killed by Israel's rockets is nowhere near the amount of civilians killed by Hamas's bus bombs and suicide bombers. With the help of the U.S, Israel can finally advance into a new age of peace with the elimination of Hamas.
