Oppose any attempts to hand control over the internet to the ITU

Created by Z.M. on June 19, 2012

At the UN's upcoming World Conference on International Telecommunications in Dubai, authoritarian governments such as those of China, Russia, and Iran are attempting to push through a resolution that would give the International Telecommunications Union and national governments broad powers to regulate the internet. The provisions of this proposed resolution spell the death of the open internet.

The US delegates to WCIT must step up efforts to oppose this resolution and ensure that a majority of UN member states vote against it. Furthermore, the US delegates must put forth a counter-resolution which would declare the internet off-limits for government regulation, monitoring, or censorship.
